Over the last year, @Trust and Society – The Global Network on Trust has been running its inaugural T&S Lab on Trust & Church. This experience brought together a cross-disciplinary selection of academics along with practitioners from different sectors to work together on issues related to trust and the Catholic Church. This lab has piloted a unique, structured collaboration process where lab members have worked together over the course of the year as well as in smaller Impact Groups to develop targeted projects on specific areas related to the lab's theme.
This journey has already brought about some exciting results. So far, we have seen a series of webinars on developing Trustworthy Ministry within the Church, hosted in collaboration with the Centre for Safeguarding Minor and Vulnerable Adults (CPCS) at St Paul University, Canada. Another group has focused on developing best practices for financial reporting and transparency, while a third has focused on creating a framework for addressing the experiences of individuals disillusioned with the Church in an Italian context. On November 20 and 21, the group met in Luxembourg for the closing of this first T&S Lab experience.
