La Luxembourg School of Religion & Society (LSRS), institution signataire de la Charte de la diversité, organise le 18 juin 2026, de 12h à 14h, sa Journée de la diversité annuelle.
Cet événement est une manière de réaffirmer son engagement à promouvoir la diversité comme source d’enrichissement, d’innovation, de progrès et de cohésion sociale (cf. art. 1 de la Charte de la diversité).
Attentive aux différences individuelles des personnes qui la composent (cf. art. 2), la LSRS consacre cette édition à l’Afrique, et tout particulièrement au Cameroun. En ce sens, cette journée constitue en elle-même une expérience concrète d’intégration de la diversité.
Souvent appelé « Afrique en miniature », le Cameroun illustre de manière exemplaire les opportunités et les défis du vivre-ensemble dans un contexte de pluralisme culturel, linguistique et religieux. La réflexion portera sur le rôle fondamental de la confiance dans l’accueil de la différence et dans la construction de relations humaines harmonieuses au sein de sociétés diverses.
Les participants auront l’occasion d’apprécier la richesse culturelle camerounaise à travers :

• Une performance de balafon, instrument traditionnel emblématique ;
• Un vidéogramme présentant la pluralité socioculturelle du Cameroun.

Le cœur de la journée sera un panel d’échanges mettant en lumière les dynamiques entre confiance et diversité, à partir de l’expérience de la société camerounaise et de sa diaspora au Luxembourg.

Un accent particulier sera mis sur une atmosphère conviviale, favorisée par le partage de mets camerounais proposés tout au long de la rencontre.

Trust at the heart of diversity : African perspectives
Diversity Day 2026

The Luxembourg School of Religion & Society (LSRS), a signatory institution of the Diversity Charter, is organizing its annual Diversity Day on June 18, 2026, from 12:00 to 14:00.
This event is an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to promoting diversity as a source of enrichment, innovation, progress, and social cohesion (cf. Art. 1 of the Diversity Charter).
Attentive to the individual differences of its members (cf. Art. 2), LSRS is dedicating this edition to Africa, and more particularly to Cameroon. In this sense, the day itself constitutes a concrete experience of integrating diversity.
Often referred to as “Africa in miniature,” Cameroon exemplifies both the opportunities and the challenges of living together in a context of cultural, linguistic, and religious pluralism. The reflection will focus on the fundamental role of trust in welcoming differences and in building harmonious human relationships within diverse societies.
Participants will have the opportunity to appreciate the richness of Cameroonian culture through:

• a balafon performance, an emblematic traditional instrument ;
• a video presentation showcasing the sociocultural diversity of Cameroon.

The highlight of the day will be a panel discussion to shed light on the dynamics between trust and diversity, drawing from the experience of Cameroonian society and its diaspora in Luxembourg.
Special emphasis will be placed on creating a convivial atmosphere, enhanced by the sharing of Cameroonian dishes offered throughout the event.
