Musical Performance by “ensemble almondo”

ensemble almondo – Alvaro Palmen, violin; Anna Isabel Fritz, violin; Martina Horejsi-Kiefer, viola; Daniel Raabe, violoncello. – The ensemble almondo was founded in Cologne by four members of the Gürzenich Orchestra. The ensemble is strongly influenced by its intensive daily work with the comprehensive repertoire of European music history from its early beginnings to the world premiere of new music. The special intention of the ensemble almondo is to discover the complexity of musical language and to establish unusual connections between seemingly distant sound worlds. In addition to its classical formation as a string quartet, the ensemble has a close artistic relationship with the prominent singer Ursula Hesse von den Steinen. Through the combination of voice, text and string quartet, a specific theatricality and musical dramaturgy of the concerts develops.

- Anton Webern, Six Bagatelles for String Quartet
- Franz Schubert, String Quartet No. 12 in c-moll
- Dimitri Schostakowitsch, String Quartet 8, Op. 110
